Field recording 5

This sound was also recorded in Sandburg, at the very top of the stairwell in West tower on an extremely windy and rainy day. this sound sort of speaks for itself. It is quite eerie and I'm sure that is only multiplied if listened to in the dark. It can be heard here as "stairwell wind," and can be seen mapped here under the same name.

Field recording 4

I found this sound to be quite interesting to me. It had been raining the day I recorded this, and it just so happened that the sewer drains were quite busy with the sound of rushing water. I recorded this on my way out of the parking garage underneath Sandburg, and unfortunately didn't record anything good or interesting the rest of the day. Despite that, this was definitely an interesting sound that I could not pass up. It can be heard here as "drain noise," and can be seen here also as "drain noise." My microphone placement map can also be viewed under the same name here.

Field recording 3

Just a block away from my last recording is where I recorded this gem, which I liked because it seemed to gather a little bit of the human side of the city, with women being heard chatting and laughing in the background amongst the usual mechanical "hum." This sound can be heard here as "corner 3," and can be viewed as "corner 3" here. Also, my microphone placement can be viewed here.

Field recording 2

This is the second sound that I deemed usable on my walk. I liked it because it includes the usual hum of the city and at the same time the chirping of birds in the background. It gives me a feeling of life within the mechanical "noise" of the city. It can be heard here as "corner 2 birds." The spot where I recorded the birds can be seen here, also as "corner 2 birds." My "corner 2 birds" microphone placement can be viewed here.

Field recording 1

This is the first sound recording of Drift 1 that I liked, I recorded it at the corner of East Ogden and N. Franklin streets. As with my other "corner" recordings, I clipped the microphones to the bungees on the outside of my backpack and let them record the ambiance of the city, and the specific place where I was recording. My recording can be heard here as "corner 1," my microphone placement ca be seen here, and my place marker can be viewed here as "corner 1."
